Avery Rock Light was a lighthouse on a rocky islet at the entrance to Machias Bay, Maine. Built in 1875 by Gen. J.C.Duane, it was automated in 1926. Unrepairable storm damage led to demolition in 1947. It was replaced by a small steel skeleton structure. The wooden light tower was centered above a square brick building that housed the keepers. The bell tower stands behind the main dwelling/light structure. Two small frame buildings are at the left and a walkway leads up to the dwelling entrance. See also LB2015.15.20 & 28
