Avery Rock Light was a lighthouse on a rocky islet at the entrance to Machias Bay, Maine. Built in 1875 by Gen. J.C.Duane, it was automated in 1926. Unrepairable storm damage led to demolition in 1947. It was replaced by a small steel skeleton structure. This light is housed in a square tower above the keeper's house. A fog horn structure stands to the left of the main building. On the opposite side and nearer the water there are two small frame buildiings. Three people are standing just to the right of the dwelling and lighthouse. See also LB2015.15.20 & 29
