The Tug NATHANIEL P. DOANE Alongside the 4-Masted Schooner ESTELLE PHINNEY out of Boston.

The ESTELLE PHINNEY was an American wooden hulled 4-masted schooner of 818 net registered tons.  On route from Norfolk, Virginia for Boston, Massachusetts, carrying a cargo of coal when she was involved in a collision and foundered off Barnegat (New Jersey) on the 22nd December 1907. 

The tug NATHANIEL P. DOANE was built in 1919, at East Boothbay, Maine. She was single screw, rated at 500 horsepower.
In 1942, the tug was acquired by the Koppers Coal Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she was renamed THOR.
In 1948, she was acquired by the McAllister Brothers Towing Company of New York, New York where she was renamed the GRACE MCALLISTER.
In 1952, the tug went out of documentation. Her current and or final disposition is unknown.
