Looking from the 9th Tee, the Belgrade Golf Course. 10x.

This golf course provided one form of recreation for guests of the Belgrade, a grand hotel with 100 large rooms which was visitied by the rich and famous during its heyday in the early 20th century before the depression (including the likes of Theodore Roosevelt). The cabins show in the background were owned by the Belgrade and could accommodate larger families. One notable and loyal guest was Anna Held, a perfomer with the Ziefeld Follies, who stayed there with her entourage for about 7 years between 1907 and 1914. She was a gifted singer, and although she had an ongoing extramarital romance with Follies creator Florenz Ziegfeld, she was independently wealthy and didn't need his financial support. The Belgrade burned to the ground in October of 1956; the cottages survived the fire.
