Dunbar and the barn was owned by Stanwood Boyton. The dwelling house was occupied by Mr. & Mrs. Henry Lufkin. Henry Lufkin was emplyed by E.C. Hanna of East Sullivan. The store was formerly operated by Dunbar brothers, Charles, Emery and Harvey. The loss of two of the brothers left H. W. the manager. The entire structure burned to the ground on June 14, 1932 after a spark from rubbish fire landed on the roof of the barn. The Ellsworth fire department responded but were unable to save the buildings. The loss to the store was estimated between $20,000-$30,000 with only $8,000 covered by insurance. --taken from a newspaper article dated June 14, 1932
