The Yawl QUILL II

The yawl QUILL II is seen here near Pumpkin Island, north of Little Deer Isle, Maine. The Camden Hills are seen in the distance. I believe this is the 38' yawl QUILL II that was long homeported in Bucks Harbor, South Brooksville, and owned by J.F. Cole. She was designed by John G. Alden while in the drafting office of B.B. Crowninshield and built by Hodgdon Bros., East Boothbay, Maine in 1905. She's still in the area, now owned on Deer Isle by Brian Kern. - Maynard Bray 2024
