Megaphone, chemical and fiberboard treated with mahogany spar paint with nickel-plated brass fastenings Stentor megaphone made by Merriman Bros. Manufacturers in East Boston, ME circa 1900. Used to call commands from wheelhouse. Tag inside reads: "THE STENTOR MEGAPHONE / PAT. APRIL 4, 1899 / MERRIMAN BROS / MANUFACTURERS / 139 BORDER STREET EAST BOSTON, MASS."
