12" x 13.25" x 5.25" quadrant case made by Spencer, Browning & Co. in London, England c. 1850. A quadrant is a measuring instrument used primarily in navigation. Used by Captain Alanson Ford, born January 18, 1838 and died June 17, 1903. Contains a quadrant (Object ID 1954.46.1).
