Mount Desert Island class sloop: SQUALL

Mt. Desert Island class wooden knockabout sloop, SQUALL. Yellow pine planking on oak frames. Designed by Ralph E. Winslow; built by George Lawson of Dorchester, MA in 1924 for the Bar Harbor Yacht Club and Seal Harbor Yacht Club under the leadership of Edsel Ford. Turquoise and white exterior, turquoise and wood top and interior. Unrestored. Plans available from Mystic Seaport Museum. Dimensions: 21' 6" (LOA) 16' 16" (length at waterline) 4' (draft) 250 sq ft (sail area).
