Ceramic/Glassware: Rose medallion washbowl
Rose medallion washbowl. According to Clark Nichols, this bowl was brought back from China on board the MANUEL LAGUNA in 1905 by his grandfather, Capt. Daniel C. Nichols. It was Capt. Nichols' last trip. Capt. Nichols told the story that this type of bowl would be placed just inside the front door and used by visitors to wash their feet as they entered a house.
