Hooked rug

Textile, household: hooked rug Oval centerpiece of large red blossoms on tan background. Groups of flowers in each corner - Waldoboro style rug. Sheared velvety texture makes it is a fancy rug for parlors. Julie Mattison of Searsport Rug Hooking thought the rug dates c. 1920s - 1930s. From Mildred Peladeau: this rug is E.S. Frost Pattern No. 60. See Peladeau's book on Rug Hooking in Maine p.68 and 71. Similar colors used in rug #2002.0037, Maybe same person hooked both rugs. Condition: good Tag on rug states: "hand clean and repair strips of burlap. Cut ends to roses". On back : "Clifford Carver/ OR 6-5588". Tag has been removed and placed in object file. Rug probably came from the Clifford Carver family but can't find any paperwork to support this.
