Physician's Account Book
Daybook kept by an unidentified physician in Searsport and Waldo County, Maine in the early 1840s. Entries are brief, listing the name of the patient, the type of service (visit, travel, or medicine), and the fee charged by the doctor. The type of ailment is rarely mentioned, with occasional exceptions for setting bones and delivering babies. The back leaf contains a few notes about horse and house rent.
