Thirteen Children
Thirteen boys and girls on the lawn between the Jeremiah Merithew house and the Congregational Church in Searsport, Maine looking towards the old Town Hall (l) and the Nickels-Colcord-Duncan House (r). The girl in plaid on the left is probably Joanna Colcord and the boy on the tricycle is likely young Lincoln Colcord. When the Penobscot Marine Museum was founded in 1936, the town of Searsport gave the museum its original Town Hall building, built in 1845. It was the museum's only building until the museum purchased the Merithew House, in 1950. The Nickels-Colcord-Duncan House, built in the early 1840s, now houses offices for the Penobscot Marine Museum, Searsport, Maine (Also see LB2003.61.110)
