Steamboat VINAL HAVEN
The steamboat VINAL HAVEN steamboat is pictured at Rockland, Maine. Built in 1892 at Searsport she ran for 46 years from Rockland, Maine . She burned in 1893 and was rebuilt and improved. In 1905 she was lengthened 15 ft. and updated. For much of her life she ran between Rockland and Swan's Island, near Mount Desert.. In 1920 she was replaced by a faster boat and was assigned to the short Rockland-Vinhaven route. An accident at her Rockland wharf on November 11, 1938 resulted in her condemnation. She was later towed off shore and sunk.
