Steamboat SILVER STAR & TREMONT
SILVER STAR and TREMONT were two steamboats that carried passengers and freight in the Penobscot Bay and River from Belfast, Maine. Both were built in Brewer about 1895-96 and owned by Capt. Isaac Edson "Ed" Archibald of Thomaston. This picture shows them at the end of their careers, where they were stripped and burried in fill near the Belfast Steamboat Wharf. SILVER STAR had twin stacks and was 73.5 ft. long. TREMONT WAS 80.5 ft.
