Steamboat SALACIA

The seamboat SALACIA was pictured in 1897 at Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Built at Bath in 1895, she sailed north from Portland three mornings a week to Bath, Popham Beach, Boothbay Harbor, and Wiscasset. On three other days a week she sailed south from Wiscasset to Portland. In 1898 she ran twice a week from Portland to Bangor. Later in her life she was named NORFOLK ON THE ROADS, implying she was in Virginia. Her dimensions were: 120.9 ft. length, 26.2 ft. beam, and 10 ft. draft. She was rated 322 gross tons with a 450 hp engine.
