Steamboat NORUMBEGA

The 146 ft. steamer NORUMBEGA was one of the Maine Central Railroad fleet that ran to , Mount Desert Island from Rockland, Maine, for 20 years. She was built in 1902 at Bath She is remembered for a grounding on Clark's Point at Southwest Harbor in August 1912. Later in her life she was part of the Nantasket Beach route from Boston to the Hull, MA amusement park. A 1934 fire at Quincy, MA ended her life.
