Steamboat MOUNT DESERT
MOUNT DESERT was a large sidewheel steamboat that ran from Rockland, Maine, to Bar Harbor. One of the most famous steamers of her time, she was built in 1879 at Bath for the Rockland, Mount Desert, and Sullivan Steamboat Co. She was owned later by the Eastern Steamship Co. In the early 1900s she was sold to a New York company.
