Steamboat MOOSEHEAD

The steamer MOOSEHEAD was part of the Maine Central Railroad fleet that ran from Rockland to Bar Harbor for summer vacationers. She was built in 1911 at Bath She later operated from Bridgeport, CT, to New York City. During World War I she was operated by the US Navy. In World Was II the US Army took her over. She sank near Boston in 1941.
