Steamboat MAY ARCHER
The steamboat MAY ARCHER was built in 1906 at the Cobb-Butler yard in Rockland for Capt. Isaac Edson "Ed" Archibald of Thomaston. MAY ARCHER provided regular summer service from Thomaston to Monhegan for several years. In the winter MAY ARCHER ran from Rockland to Northeast Harbor on Mount Desert Island. Capt. Archibald owned a number of steamers, which he sold after a few years to the Eastern Steam Ship Co..
