Part of a series of photos taken by boat builder Roger Hambidge, who "built this plank-on-frame model of the schooner ALICE S. WENTWORTH. Together, these images record the entire building process. The idea was to use the model as a guide in building the full-sized replica at Mystic Seaport, for which Roger would take on the role of master builder. But the support never came, so that project was abandoned, and since Anne and I had funded the model, we reclaimed it and it's now in my living room in Brooklin. Later, Roger did head up the building of a similar-sized schooner, AMISTAD, at the Seaport. He's a master—either at model building or as a shipwright."
