In the engine room aboard MORNING STAR sits one of the draggers three 600 horsepower 3176B Caterpillar diesel engines. The 57' aluminum dragger MORNING STAR was designed by Fred Barfuet and built by Bud Hoy of Hoy's Marine in Newport, Oregon, in 1995. [NF ref July '96, pp. 28-30]
