Taken from the inside of a Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad car, we see the silhouette of a man, likely a train engineer or conductor, standing on the platform outside the open door of either a passenger car or a caboose. In contrast, the Belfast railroad yard in the vew is in bright daylight, showing tracks, switches, a freight car on a siding, and the shoe factory in the distance. This is one of a series of photographs staged to be used for an article in Life Magazine in 1950
