Image of the room of a house, perhaps a parlor. Visible in image: The view appears to look between two drapes into the room. In the center stands a small table with a kerosene lamp on top and a stack of reading material on a platform between its legs. A heavy wooden chair sits next to the table, in front of a fireplace with a carved wooden mantel. That mantel and the smaller one to its right have on them decorative objects, including candles, photographs, and china. Near the window at right sits another chair and a small piano. A generously-lit space lies beyond a curtain at the far end of the room. The exact location in this photograph is not presently known.
