Image of Nantasket Beach in Hull, Massachusetts. Visible in image: Men and women stroll on the sand as waves roll in. The women wear full skirts and hats and most of the men appear to be wearing suits, although the leftmost man looks more rustically dressed. No bathers are visible. The south end of the beach is defined by Atlantic Hill, on which stands the Atlantic House hotel. The hotel was built in 1877 and later expanded to house 175 guests plus another 125 in cottages. It burned down in January 1927.
