Image of the schooner PRESTON and other schooners at the Portland Terminal Company wharf, Portland, Maine. Visible in image: The weathered three-masted coal schooner PRESTON is moored at the Portland Terminal Company wharf, located at 346-380 Commercial Street. Trains of empty hopper cars sit on rail sidings on the wharf. Frame towers for unloading are visible adjacent to PRESTON and further down the wharf, where two two-masted schooners can be seen. A sign indicates the owner of the wharf's coal-bunkering facilities, the A. R. Wright Company. A filled coal hopper car is visible at one of the entrance to the A. R. Wright bunker. South Portland is just visible across the harbor. This plate appears to be a copy photograph by J. E. Perkins of a photographic print.
