Schooner framed out

Image of a sailing vessel under construction at a shipyard on the Kennebec River, date unspecified. Visible in image: A vessel on the ways, before planking has started. Note the long ladder leaning parallel with the stem post and the two men on the scaffolding, one amidships and one at the transom. Cataloger's note: Jane Stevens's notecard for this photograph indicates that the vessel is the full-rigged ship ARYAN, the last built in the U.S. for commerical purposes. The date for this photograph would then be 1893 and the location the Minott shipyard in Phippsburg center. The caption for this photograph in One Man's World neither supports nor contradicts this fact, but no additional supporting evidence presently exists.
