Schooner beached, Riverside, Popham
Image of a two-masted schooner beached on the Kennebec River shore at Popham Village, Maine. Visible in image: A two-masted schooner, name and homeport sadly barely illegible, is beached in the Kennebec off the Riverfront Hotel. Lines run off the schooner onshore to the right, and into the river at bow and stern. Her sails and down and furled. No crew appear to be on deck and there seems to be only one person on the beach. Buildings in the background, from left: the church; the stable of the Riverside Hotel; the Riverside itself; the Perkins-Stacey-Spinney house; the Haley house, and Haley & Marr's general store. The name of the vessel and date of the photograph are not presently known.
