Presumpscot River

Presumpscot River

Image of the shore of the Presumpscot River in Cumberland County, Maine. Visible in image: View of the tree-lined shore of the Presumpscot River. A man stands on the stern of a punt boat at lower left, and another person--possibly a woman, as the silhouette appears to show an outsized hat--appears to be standing in the clearing left of center. Caption on negative sleeve/reverse of print: Handwritten label contemporary to slide, affixed to one edge, reading "Presumpscot River;" round red-bordered sticker in one corner, hand-written, reading "178." Cataloger's note: The identity of the people in the image and the photographer of the source image for the lantern slide are not concretely established. There is nothing the precludes James E. Perkins being the original photographer.
