Launching at Bowker yard

Image of a four-masted schooner, name not visible, being launched at the Bowker shipyard, Phippsburg Center, Maine. Visible in image: A four-masted schooner, rigging festooned with flags, including what could be a shipping company house flag (the "W" flag), slides down the ways at the Bowker shipyard. Spectators crowd her decks, the wharf next to the launching ways, and the river, in small rowboats. Friction from the launch generates smoke up near the schooner's bows. A second vessel appears to be under construction (frame only at this point) at right. The Bowker shipyard built several four-masted schooners, the last in 1920-21, so the name of this particular vessel is not easily deduced.
