Visible in image: The three torpedo boats are tied up next to the Bath Iron Works ways without armament and are receiving boat davits, companionway ladders, and other hardware before speed trials. Note numerals chalked on stacks, and the after helm of the boat in center. A mass of logs float in the background, while a large sidewheel steamboat and a three-masted schooner are moored further down river. Cataloger's note: This is a copy negative on film of a print by James E. Perkins. The identity of the copyist and year in which the copy was made are not certain.
