View of the Hamlin School, Springvale, Maine 1949 The school opened in January of 1914 as a grammar school with grades 1 through 8. The last classes were held in 1973. Thereafter it became a Maine District Court. Later, it was restored and converted into apartments by Lionel Sevigney in 2002.
