Recreational Lodge & Terrace - Chase Lodge - Torsey Lake, Readfield Me.
Image shows a small shingled cabin on the rock-reinforced shoreline of a large lake. A tiny matching house stands in the backyard. Adirondack chairs are set out on the lawn. A set of wooden steps leads down to the water. The cabin is the Recreational Lodge at Chase's camp on Torsey Pond, formerly the Chases Boys' Camp, established in 1898 on the shore of Torsey Pond by John A. Chase, and said to be the first boys' camp in Maine. Other of the camp's cabins remain, all now private residences.
