A street view of North Main Street in Caribou, Maine which depitcts several early and later 19th century homes along the dirt street. The graded and trim roadsides and row of trees reflect the civic pride of the late 19th century village improvement movement. Electicity is evidenced in the utility poles, however the modernity of the paved street would not happen until the 1930s.
