Three sets of tracks approach a train station and platform in a flat rural setting. The scene includes a view down a quiet residential street which crosses the tracks at an angle. This image is part of a series made by one of the three Eastern Illustrating & Publishing Company photographers assigned to New England or upstate New York. The glass plates would be sent back to Belfast, Maine, and processed into postcards at the printing plant on High Street. Shown is the passenger station in the central New York town of Silver Spring. The building sits on the edge of a residential area. Its design is notable for having a flared lower wall and curving roof brackets which give the simple structure a stylish air.
