Sherman High School, Sherman Mills ME A317
View of a cluster of three wood frame buildings in a rural area. At the left is a picturesque, early 20th century clapboard building which opened as the high and middle school in 1917. It closed in 1967 when students moved to a more updated facility elsewhere in the district. At the right is a more utilitarian, mid-19th century two-story structure typical of rural Maine towns. A,1930s automobile is parked in the foreground on the dirt road.
