Shore Dinner - Spencer Bay Club, Moosehead Lake, Maine A18-C
Four older men work on preparing a meal near a campfire at the Spencer Bay Club at Moosehead Lake. Two guys tend to the roasting at a crossed sticks and crossbar structure they have fashioned out of sturdy tree limbs. Camp tables, one made out of logs and a plank, a stack of bowls, and large wooden buckets complete the scene. Spencer Bay, the location of several sporting camps by the mid-20th century, is a major eastern arm of Moosehead Lake, known for its pristine remotenes, beauty, and recreational appeal - particularly fishing. A note on the negative sleeve reads: "Original owned by Amory Houghton, Spencer Bay Club, Moosehead Lake, Greenville, Maine Winter address: Belfast, Maine"
