The Sigma Alpha Epsilon flag hangs on a staff above the recessed central bay. The symmetrical, classical revival structure is typical of many fraternity houses built on college campuses during the early to mid-20th century. In 1905 Sigma Alpha Epsilon moved into its present house. Sigma Alpha Epsilon was the first local chapter to abolish all forms of the antiquated hazing techniques. The fraternity was dismissed from campus last June following a late-spring investigation by university officials into incidents that occured on Maine Day in 2018.
