Readfield Corners, Rt. 17, Readfield, Maine K26
Image shows a village intersection with a 3-story commercial block and gas station next door. The road heads downhill to a wooded section of town. Storefront signs for a "Luncheonette" and larger signs appealing to automobile traffic advertise "Sealtest Ice Cream", "Flying A Service - More Drive in Every Gallon", "Coca-Cola", and "Budweiser Beer". Automobiles parked outside span the late 1940s to the early 1960s. Surely the hope was to capture the discretionary vacation dollars of tourists and campers headed for the region's lakes and ponds.
