M.T. Glaffin Cottages, Baldwin Head, Milbridge, ME. 244
M.T. Glaflin Cottages, Baldwin Head, Milbridge, ME. The one on the left has a sign over the door which reads "CRESCENT" and the year 1891 on the small tower. Both cottages sit above deep ledges leading to the water. These summer cottages belonged to my great-grandfather Mark T. Claflin from Waterville, ME. He built the large one and named it Wavecrest and named the smaller one the Crescent. He used the Crescent for his Masonic member guests. On a Saturday night in September, 1925 while the rest of the family were attending a dance in Milbridge, he awoke with his second floor bedroom on fire. He jumped from the window, but died. My grandfather, Harold Claflin sold the property in the 1960's. [Stephen Fichet (Fickett) - 2017]
