Town Hall, Sanbornville, N.H. 1201
View of a town center at a broad intersection, dominated by a large Victorian brick building with a clocktower. Various station wagons and coupes from the 1920s and 30s are parked at either side of the broad street. Streetcar tracks cross the road in the foreground, as well as railroad tracks which are posted with a warning sign. The intersection was locally known as "Railroad Square". This image is part of a series made by one of the three Eastern Illustrating & Publishing Company photographers assigned to cover New England or upstate New York. The glass plates would be sent back to Belfast, Maine, and processed into postcards at the printing plant on High Street. The large building is the Sanbornville Town Hall. A pharmacy occupies a space on the sidewalk level at the left.
