Store Bathhouse, Graden Beach, Lake Mattawa, Orange, Mass. 6x.

Image of a lean-to with aawning windows open to a counter displaying bottles. Another simple wooden shed stands adjacent; parked beside it is an early automobile. The "Bathhouse" [sic.] was likely a tiny concessions stand and changing room for summer guests staying at the Graden Beach camp on Lake Mattawa. This was likely a part of one of the tourist camps that sprang up along New England lakes and ponds during the early part of the 20th century, aided by the increase in automobile ownership and family driving vacations.
