This structure, with its ornate steeple and large Gothic arch stained glass window, burned in 1943. It was located at the corner of Court and Cooper Streets. A new church was built to replace this, but it was demolished in the early 1960s to make room for the current post office. Few living residents remember this original church or know its history.
