Houses and other wooden structures line stretch of the main street in the quiet village of Rumford Point. There's no sign here of the busy industrial life of nearby Rumford, whose backbone at the time was the Oxford Paper Company (a company development still housed employees in masonry duplexes at the time). In the background, we see a gas station and a lone figure about to climb into his car. A clapboarded church or meeting house sits across the street.
