View of the Hotel Harris in Rumford, Maine. The monumental, Beaux Arts style building was built by 19th century local paper industrialist Hugh J. Chisholm, completed in 1906. Chisholm hired the Providence, R.I. architectural firm of Stone, Carpenter and Willson to design the structure, which he named The Strathglass Building, after the Scottish river near his family's ancestral home. The building stands on Hartford Avenue in downtown Rumford and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
