Color transparency from c. 1960 showing the building originally known as the Reading Room,occupied by the exclusive Oasis Club beginning in 1887. The architect was William Randolph Emerson. The Maine Cental Railroad bought the building in 1922. In 1950 it became part of the Hotel Bar Harbor, which later became the Bar Harbor Inn. In 2015 the building opened as the Reading Room Restaurant, part of the Bar Harbor Inn.
