R.R. Station, Oquossoc Me. 13.

View of a simple railroad station, without a covered platform or other passenger amenities, combining feight and passenger use. A tall signal projects from the roof. An empty wagon awaits cargo in front. Two sets of track run by. A water tower and a number of utilitatrian structures stand to the right and farther along the tracks at the left. As one of the towns on the southern edge of Maine's unorganized territory, but located closely between the tourist attractions of Mooselookmeguntic and Rangelely Lakes, Oquossoc was served by the Phillips & Rangeley Railroad, a subsidiary of the Maine Central, from 1912 to 1923. Trains on this stretch, part of the Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes line, transported lumber and pulpwood as well as passengers until about 1930, when the tracks were taken up.
