"Crabtree's Store & P.O. Hancock, Me. 1k." Alfred E. (Evans) Crabtree general store and Hancock Corner Post office on the Point Road just down from Rte. 1, opposite Monumental Lot. It burned down 1981. The building originally stood on his grandfather Lemuel Crabtree Jr.'s Lincoln Wharf, located at end of Cemetery Road. The building on the left was moved from Monumental Lot when the land was donated by Lemuel Crabtree Jr's widow. The house in background is the 2nd Lemuel Crabtree Jr' house. Advertising for Blackstone Cigars and Jell-O can be seen in the window at the store. A sign advertising Lay Or Bust Poultry Feeds by Park & Pollard Co. of Boston and Buffalo is seen in front of the building on the left where a pick-up truck appears to loading bags of the feed. The building may be additional storage space for Crabtree's See also 106699.
