Chamberlain Cove, Me. 29.

"Chamberlain Cove, Me. 29." Actually, Chamberlain Colony in Round Pond The steeple of Round Pond's Little Brown Church is visible above the trees on the right side of the photo, confirming the location. Henry Chamberlain, for whom the Post Office at Chamberlain was named, was involved in a lot of activities related to the transition to a tourism economy at the turn of the 20th century. Henry lived in Round Pond, about 5 miles north of Chamberlain. Starting in 1904 he built ten summer rental cottages and a casino on his property on Round Pond harbor -- and called it the "Chamberlain Colony" (he wasn't shy about putting his name on things).
