"Fiske House, Damariscotta, Me. 18k." This was still in use in the late forties till the early fifties and possibly a bit later.....it was used as a meeting place for the American Legion or the VFW, not sure which, but believe it was the Legion.....it had a pool table and room for movies, and was used on Friday night as a place to entertain local children as a recreation center.....it was manned by the ladies of the American Legion I believe.....before that it served as a place to house veterans during the Second world war. Many of them married local women and stayed in the area after the war...[Malcolm Ray - 2018]
